This is embarrassing, but, when I was a kid and a teenager I loved meat well done, and kind of burnt ha! Meat cooking term? What the heck was that?

My, oh my! It wasn't until I moved to South Dakota, that I learned how to eat beef! Our friends took us to the best restaurant in the area and when it was time to order hey jokingly told me: "if you order a well done steak, we are gonna leave this table. Don't embarrass us" hahahahhaha!

Well, those words encouraged me to try a medium rare ribeye. And that's how I broke up with Mr. Well Done. But, every breakup has it low downs. Mine? Let's see… I couldn't afford to eat every day at the restaurant, of course… plus, I didn't know how the heck to cook a medium rare steak (who needs to know about cooking temperatures to cook a well done steak? lol)

Well, it only took me 10 minutes to learn how to cook a perfectly medium rare steak at home with this incredible Programmable Cooking Thermometer from MeasuPro.

The MeasuPro DCT350 is a digital thermometer that helps you to cook a variety of meats at your preferred cooking term, and it includes their recommended minimum cooking temperatures according to USDA.

It has 4 options for meat temperature: rare, medium rare, medium and well done. You can program it to your preferred temperature or use any pre-set temperatures for the selected meat and doneness term. All of this by using the easy to follow buttons on the cooking thermometer.

The meat options are: beef, pork, chicken, turkey, veal, lamb, ham, duck, ribs, and ground beef, pork, chicken, turkey, veal and lamb.

A long thirty-six (36) inch braided cable is what connects the stick to the digital box. The cable is thin enough to make the oven door close perfectly without letting any heat escape.

The back of the digital thermometer box has magnets to stick it to your oven door, but if you have stainless steel appliances like me, you can just place it on the counter and flip the LCD display to a vertical position for easy view.

When your meat reaches the set temperature the thermometer will beep. You can also program it to beep before it reaches the desired temperature, just so you have enough time to prep whatever you need before it is done :)

The programmable thermometer is easy to use and the instructions are clear. It requires one (1) AAA battery which is included.

I'll update as soon as I use it again. The first time I used it I was so excited that forgot to photograph… but will do the second time, which will be soon :)
