Who loves those amazing Pinterest pins that show super mega organized pantries? I sure do and thanks to Kanvas I can now start my pantry organization project with their 48 Chalkboard Labels.

These Kavas Chalkboard Labels have a nice variety. With four (4) shapes including oval, rectangle and two vintage shapes that I absolutely adore, this is one of the largest sets of labels on Amazon.com

The rough surface makes the stickers look like a real chalkboard. Ahhh adorable!

They are also easy to peel and you can remove and replace them without any harm of losing adhesive if you have placed them in the wrong area.

If you make a mistake with the chalk, just rub it with a dry paper towel and it will look like new again.

This is how cute they look!

The premium chalkboard labels are a nice big size, they are about 3-3.5" x 2". You can definitely cut them with scissors if you would like a different size or even shape. They are reusable, you just need to clean them, write the new name and you are ready to go.

Not only they can be used for the pantry, they can be used as labels for crafts, toy bins, coffee mugs, ID of wine glasses, or anything in need for labels :D

This family eats a LOT of rice. White rice to be exact. Almost every day, every week. (I know, the cards… ugh) Oh well, when we get bored of the white rice I make some yellow rice called "arroz guisado" (stewed rice).

The COVERPLUG Paintable Outlet Cover Review

Finally! A plug cover that doesn't look ugly, that really works and that is easy to install AND remove by adults.

It is the COVERPLUG. It is functional and it also offers higher protection since it doesn't attract little ones. The translucent typical caps sold everywhere still show where the holes are and kids find it curious, so it attracts them even though they are "covered". With the COVERPLUG they don't even notices there is a power outlet, so no more curious little ones trying to figure out how to stick small things through it.

One thing that I really like about the COVERPLUG is that is made out of a specially designed paintable plastic so you can blend it making it look like part of your walls. Sincerely, I love to leave it as is. I love to give my walls a little accent with white details. (I'll probably change my mind when I finally paint our new house with a paint color I like, not the one it came with)

I truly love this concept of plug covers. The COVERPLUG is a great product and I would recommend it to everyone.

Yumms Burger Press Review

Burgers! Who doesn't like burgers.

When I am lazy and my hubby is hungry, that's what I cook. All beef patty, sandwich bread (lol), mayo, ketchup, cheddar cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado and sprouts if I have some. YUMMY!

I am a mess when it comes to measure food. I need the appropriate tools because if I don't have them the chance of having different sizes of patties is extremely high. Thanks to Yumms! now I don't have to be stressed about serving weird size burgers.

The Yumms! Burger Press makes a perfect round patty of about 1/4 lb. Perfect size for us, although hubby always eats two burgers.

I love how simple it is to use, the three pieces fit perfectly, meat does not stick to them and they are also easy to clean. The base has four (4) rubber legs that prevent the burger press from slipping.

The middle piece is what makes everything great, because thanks to it you don't have to touch the meat with your hands, so there are no more sticky/greasy hands :) The ergonomic handle helps make the patties with little to no effort. My three year old helped me and love to use it.

RR Garden Update 1

Here is an update in our backyard project. We are working during the weekends on it because the hubby works during the week and I am also busy.

So far we removed all the mulch, cut down some shrubs that we didn't want and sprayed some herbicide on the grass because we want to get new seeds to grow other kind of grass :)

This is how it looks:

BEFORE

AFTER

The big tree that is still standing was left there on purpose. During the hot summer days that big tree helps the house stay cool blocking the sun, so it will stay there until it decides to die lol

This weekend we are planning on removing some stumps that the former owner left after he cut down the trees. After, even if we do or don't remove them, we will use a rototiller all over the backyard to aerate the soil and remove the weeds (this should be interesting, fun: a.k.a. back killer). Of course I have to number every single piece of concrete that divides the grassy area from where the veggies will be planted.

Speaking of garden… this is how my kitchen currently looks:

My kitchen window is the only one that lets sunlight come in. The windows on the sides of the house are shaded by our neighbors houses, the front windows are also in shade because of the covered balcony, and then the back are the bathroom and the kitchen which are the only two that can let sunlight in from around 8am to 1pm. So, the kitchen it is.

The hubby mentioned buying a small green house and install some lights, but even though that would be the best option for us (our seedlings get leggy with the lack of sunlight here), we need to save and don't have the money right now to spend it on that. Hopefully our plants will survive their first 6 weeks inside… if not, I'm screwed ha!

Well, that's the update for now. Stay around to read more next week!

Happy gardening!

Finish It! Gear 3 Pocket Running Belt Review

My hubby got us a membership to the family fitness center around the corner. I love it! I've been attending some classes like group strength training, x bike, zumba, ripped and group interval training. Every one of those have loud music all the time, which I LOVE, except for el G.I.T. which is with a trainer.

I always need my music on to get pumped, and I also need to have my keys with my gym ID, cellphone, headphones and a protein bar, just in case :) I don't have to place them on the dirty floor anymore because now I have the FinishIt 3 Pocket Running Belt.

This running belt is compact, adjustable, comfortable and has the enough space for my needs.  It has pockets and a main compartment that is separated with a mesh in the middle to avoid the cellphone to get scratched by the keys. My favorite thing is the little hole to get my earphones easily out letting me listen to my beloved 90's music while my phone is safe inside the running belt :D :D :D

One thing that I like a lot about the FinishIt 3 Pocket Running Belt is the buckle and adjustable strap. It gets adjusted by just pulling the two straps, super easy. No need to measure, and adjust, measure and adjust, until you get the fit. You just buckle it, pull and done.

As I mentioned it, I use the running belt for my interval training, but you can use it while you are jogging around the block, a walk to the park or when you just need to pack light to visit walking distance stores (like I do too)

As you guys may have seen through Facebook and Instagram, we started to plant the first seeds for our very first home garden. Our backyard is nowhere near ready to plant my beloved new babies, but since they just started sprouting we have at least six more weeks to get it done.

Right now this is how our backyard looks (don't judge lol):

The things that need to be done are:
1. remove old mulch, rocks, unwanted bushes and old tree trunks,
2. fix drainage pipes,
2. set a new layout for irrigation system and install it,
4. prepare current soil and make raised bed and trellis.

The big tree shown in the sketch is staying because its shade cools down the house during the summer. Right now it has no leaves, so I don't really know how big it is going to get, but it is definitely bigger than the one in this design.

I have more than 25 different kind of seeds, but since my space is limited I did not used them all. I did sow 10 types of seeds in a starter kit that is indoors. Those 10 plants are: two kinds of sweet peppers, three different tomatoes, broccoli, echinacea, cucumber, lettuce, chives, oregano, culantro and cilantro. I am planning on adding basil and dill to make them companions for some of the veggies. :)

So far broccoli was the first to sprout and I am a happy mama!

Hopefully when my plant babies are ready to get transplanted we will have our backyard done, and this is how I want it to look:
The bottom right line will be the place for the lettuce because it is shaded all day. My husband is not a fan of raised beds but I can't help it. I love squares and things aligned in a particular place. They are going to have trellis on the back for cucumbers and tomatoes. One bed would have cucumbers, broccoli, oregano and dill.  The other one would have peppers, tomatoes and basil. The circles that appear on the left side under the square beds are tee pee shaped trellis for squash.

Top left corner will contain my beloved lemon tree that I am begging the hubby to get me haha! The top right has banana trees, that we already have and if they survive they will go there. Then I would love couple of more fruit trees but I haven't decided on which ha!

As for the top line that is empty I don't know either. I have a lot of seeds but I need to figure out if that is a good place to plant them.

Anyway, like I said, this is just a sketch. Probably a dream that will come true completely different from what I want/expect haha. I am no expert so as I keep reading and learning about gardening my layout will probably change and I will update you with it :)

MeasuPro Programmable Cooking Thermometer Review

This is embarrassing, but, when I was a kid and a teenager I loved meat well done, and kind of burnt ha! Meat cooking term? What the heck was that?

My, oh my! It wasn't until I moved to South Dakota, that I learned how to eat beef! Our friends took us to the best restaurant in the area and when it was time to order hey jokingly told me: "if you order a well done steak, we are gonna leave this table. Don't embarrass us" hahahahhaha!

Well, those words encouraged me to try a medium rare ribeye. And that's how I broke up with Mr. Well Done. But, every breakup has it low downs. Mine? Let's see… I couldn't afford to eat every day at the restaurant, of course… plus, I didn't know how the heck to cook a medium rare steak (who needs to know about cooking temperatures to cook a well done steak? lol)

Well, it only took me 10 minutes to learn how to cook a perfectly medium rare steak at home with this incredible Programmable Cooking Thermometer from MeasuPro.

iCustomLabel Holiday Firsts Baby Onesie Stickers Review

Oh how much I love baby's firsts. I regret so much no being creative and fun when my 3 year old was a baby… Now I see these great ideas all over the internet and I am definitely not going to make the same mistake with baby #2.

I have a gazillion photos of my 3 year old since he was a newborn, but none of them are cute monthly photos or baby's firsts that everybody loves (especially my family that lives so far away)

For my luck (and for baby #2's luck) ICustomLabel has a great variety of onesie monthly stickers, and one of sets is the Baby's Holiday Firsts Set.
