Fisher Price's Little People City Skyway Review

*I received this product for free for testing purposes thanks to BzzAgent and Fisher Price. Regardless, all opinions are 100% my own.

When we get a package like this it means that there is something awesome inside!

This time we were waiting for the new Fisher-Price Little People City Skyway. My son asked the mail man everyday for "his" toy since he learned that we were getting it.

Bru Joy Premium Garlic Press Review

I love my garlic! I add garlic to almost everything! All my meats' seasonings have garlic in them! I just love it! And when I say I love garlic I don't mean the canned stuff, I mean FRESH garlic!

When I learned that I had the chance to review this amazing premium garlic press from Bru Joy I got super excited. I would finally have a tool to mince mince my garlic and not having to chop it and get my hands all sticky and smelly (not that I do not love how garlic smells, but you get it)!

The Premium Garlic Press is made out of high quality stainless steel. It won't rust, stain, or break; it will last a lifetime, believe me. The thickness of the handles is perfect because it makes it easy to hold, even for small hands like mine. It feels so smooth and comfortable, and with only a gentle squeeze your garlic is out!

Tuna Salad Cucumber Canoes

Oh, I am so excited to tell you about this recipe!

I love tuna salad sandwiches, but since I am trying to cut the carbs I decided to change the bread for cucumbers (because I had them in the fridge and wanted something different)

The only thing I missed was celery because I didn't have any. Boo :(

I added the apples to give it a kick of fresh and sweet/sour flavor to the salad. I remember, when I was a kid, I used to taste apples in the potato salad served during the holidays in Puerto Rico. I used to hate it because I always confused the apple squares with potatoes, and you know that feeling when you have something in mind and you taste it and it is something different? Well, I hated to bite a sweet and crunchy "potato" while I was expecting a soft and salty one.

Brussels Sprouts Hash with Bacon and Egg

I didn't like brussels sprouts when I was a kid. I used to see my grandma boiling (yes! boiling) those mini cabbages that didn't look appetizing at all and I thought that was enough reason to not try them.

Then, Pinterest was born and I found Food for My Family. I must say that thanks to Shaina's recipe of Brussels Sprouts Hash, now I LOVE them! Even more because they go with bacon! :)

Puerto Rican Sofrito Recipe

This should have been the first recipe to be posted in this blog. A puerto rican cannot live without sofrito. It is the base of almost every one of my favorite recipes.

While I was living in Puerto Rico, I never had the need to buy or make my own sofrito. My grandma was the one in chafe of that. After moving to the US, specifically to South Dakota, my mother-in-law used to send me a frozen bowl with some other puerto rican goodies as bread fruit, grew plantains, green bananas and codfish (eaten a lot in PR). I knew it was expensive, so I decided to start making my own.

Cooking with sofrito gives the food an amazing flavor. I can't explain it, but when you taste a puerto rican dish, you know it is puerto rican and it is thanks to the sofrito!
